Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

One of the benefits of iKC is each member has her/his own personal platform for sharing interesting information with the entire community.

We know we must write differently on the web than if we were writing an in-depth article for National Geographic or Forbes, maybe more like a short article for USA Today instead. But the bottom-line is iKC gives you that ability.

One of the benefits of a blog is the writer can hyperlink to information without having to incorporate that text into the article. Then the reader can explore it, if he/she chooses to.

If you like to write, let me invite you to join iKC's blogging members. Topics don't have to adhere to strictly knives, but do need to interest our members.

Blogs by textbook definition are writings of value to the reader- The good news is our community is made up a lots of different interests.

There are excellent resources out there to learn to appeal to readers, including my favorite: Clear Blogging. If you are serious about influencing readers through this exiting new medium, I encourage you to invest a few dollars and read this book. There are many others, such as Blogging for Dummies is helpful too.

The goal of iKC's blogs is to educate, entertain, inform, persuade or humor the members.

Consider this too- very soon, iKC will host more knife and collector related blogs than anywhere else on the web. Not long after than we will host more than all others combined. Now that is exciting!

If you like to write, then start your very own column here today... you want to be in the lifestyle, sports or business section? How about the front page?

Coming up in Part II of Blogging to the Knife Community- How to use iKC's Blog.

Please don't post one-line questions or strictly information about yourself (like what you had for breakfast or that you like your dog) unless you adopt that as your style for all your blog posts. Also, if you want to communicate with a specific member or Group, use their wall or send a message.
Don't use our blogs to promote your, or a fellow member's, business or service. If you have any questions see iKC's rules on the main menu.
